Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit while they transport loads. The Rider model on the other hand, uses a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and therefore, it is not recommended to transport tall or unstable loads using these machines. A rider could be the best answer if you are searching for an inexpensive method for transporting loads from point A to point B. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is specially designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which can work in aisles of less than six feet. They are very useful pieces of machinery during cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
