Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries in the year 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to lower and raise the hoist. This mechanism really impressed customers and thus, the name was established.
Genie has moved into many new markets, because the demand for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, when the requirements for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. Like for example, Genie went into making stick booms, telehandlers, light towers, man-lifts and articulated booms.
Genie decided to secure a partner who held the same values because of the economic downturn in the start of the 2000s, when they partnered along with Terex. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the initial few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie machines continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their customers. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on providing exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality equipment.
The DC and Bi-Energy equipment offered by Genie provide quiet operation, emission-free even in the most delicate work settings. Where the machine should be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator along with the benefits of a 48V DC machinery.
Telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach, compared to any of the different aerial platforms. These machinery are ideal for small areas or limited access areas in all types of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These equipment deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you require in order to travel around the work site and job area.
