When it comes to the manufacturing and warehousing industries, the lift truck usage all over the world has continued to grow. The lift truck is a motorized truck made specifically for raising and moving items. The equipment has gradually evolved and today there are numerous modern designs for moving and raising objects. In the last decades, the machine has significantly grown and the designs have evolved so there are a lot of modern designs and a variety of trucks to meet every specific application. Loads are capable of lifting and reaching to greater heights than ever before.

The lift truck is available in a wide variety of power types such as diesel, gas powered, electric, diesel and liquid propane or LP units. The load capacities of these units vary greatly since there are a lot of manufacturers building and designing them. For example, some units are able to reach a height of over 3000 mm or more than 10,000 kg.

The forklift truck features include an overhead guard, mast and axles, the counterweight, and the truck frame to which the base of the power source and all aforementioned things are attached. On the rear side there is a counterweight attached to the truck. This specific counterweight counterbalances the cargo that is being lifted in order to keep the machine stable.

The equipment's movements are dictated by the operator who sits inside the cab. The overhead feature likely consists of a metal roof designed to protect the operator from falling objects. Hydraulic tilt cylinders mounted to the mast and the frame. These tilts pivot the mast in order to engage the load. The mast is a vertical assembly that lowers and raises the load with the interlocking rails to provide lateral stability.

A lot of businesses and warehouse use lift trucks on a daily basis to raise and move goods and supplies. Nowadays, there are many different used and brand new lift trucks available in the market at competitive prices. Those who depend on transportation and occasional lifting could use rental forklifts since they are also available.
