Aisle Types
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These machines can turn in an aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn in the aisle. There are several aisle widths to take into consideration with different models.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks operate in less than 6 feet places and usually use certain guidance systems like wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel within the aisles. Several various models of VNA trucks comprise Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are popular models in tight retail areas and in several storage and warehouse situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks can operate within aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Usually these are stand-up units like Reach Trucks. They are usually used within storage facilities and warehouses.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work within aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The "Ergomat" padding on stand-up models provide padding on a sloped floorboard. These features are designed to lessen operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is really big and has an 8" low step height that helps reduce overall body fatigue by easing frequent exit and entry. The unit includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest together with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and therefore more effective while limiting exhaustion.
