Classifications of Scissor Lifts & Aerial Lift Platforms
Aerial platforms and scissor lifts enable employees to work on elevated structures in a safe way and allow them to get to objects and structures. These lifts and platforms provide friendly user controls to maneuver the base and the platform separately. This allows the machinery to get around objects. There are many available lift designs which are suitable for specific applications and environments.

Scissor Lift
Utilizing a series of crisscrossed linked steel arms, the scissor lift is designed to create an X patterned support system when the lift is raised vertically. Workers make use of a large rectangle platform which is attached to the top of the lifting device. There are support railings along the edges to provide added safety.

Scissor lifts are ideal for pavement, hard and compact dirt surfaces and concrete as they feature a low profile. These machinery utilize either a combustion engine or an electric motor to power the lift and the lifting device.

Rough Terrain Scissor Lift
The rough terrain scissor lift uses the same lifting technology as the standard scissor lift model. The rough terrain model differs in that it features a specialized base which is designed for surfaces which are uneven. The rough terrain even offers oversized all terrain tires and a higher ground clearance. These units provide lower lifting heights overall due to the higher center of gravity of the machinery.

Telescopic Boom Lift
The telescopic boom lift offers a telescoping beam that rises both diagonally and vertically. This machinery offers a small work platform outfitted with controls to operate the boom. The controls use a combustion or an IC engine in order to power the hydraulics and lift the boom.

Articulating Boom Lift
An articulating boom lift has two telescopic booms which are connected with a moving elbow. This lifting equipment provides a bucket or a small working platform outfitted with hand controls that are used to control the boom. The articulating lift is capable of reaching on top buildings and over objects.
