Reach Truck
In order to keep storage areas orderly and to stock up supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck is available in quite a few kinds: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The stand-up is the most basic. The truck forks slide under the pallet and move it to the right storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This particular type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are only one pallet deep.
Ideal for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, which is similar to the stand-up, is frequently utilized. This particular model consists of telescopic forks intended to put the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet should go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the added advantage of being able to not just slide under the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This particular version is ideal in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Often more than one type of reach truck is needed inside warehouses. Textile firms and manufacturing facilities use different types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to operate and can increase productivity while maximizing available storage space.
