Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different types of sources which can power forklifts. They can run using gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for numerous applications. There are various facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which are able to be changed out when the machine should be refueled.
In order to avoid possible serious injury, certain safety measures must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for example: be sure to wear the correct safety equipment such as goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the forklift ignition prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
